CLING

We are in the days that costs are high and money is low.

Most of us work day in and day out just to feed ourselves and our family.

We kill ourselves for that “American Dream” that I’m not sure even exist anymore if it ever did.

Yes, we have our freedom unlike other countries but I use the term “freedom” loosely.

The word struggle seems to describe the “American Dream”  better to me.

Yet, we cling to the idea that someday our ship will come in.

We cling, to the idea that things will get better.

We cling, to the hope that one day the struggle will be over and we can finally breathe.

I fear for me the struggle will never be done. Yet, I cling to the hope of what a new day will bring.
