CONNECTIONS

WEEKLY DISCOVER CHALLENGE!

It is ironic that this is the weekly discover challenge. I have been thinking of connections a lot lately. Connections to myself and  others.

I began blogging a little over a year ago and I now have over a hundred followers. I have connected with people from all over the world each time someone likes or comments on one of my blogs. I feel a sense of peace. It is a sort of validation for me. It’s as if every click of the button is saying “Yes, this is what you are supposed to be doing!”

It saddens me that I feel so disconnected from friends and family that I have on facebook account much longer than my WordPress account and people do like my stuff and only a few people do that. Yet, I know they are really not reading it. Believe me, if they had read any of it, they would have something to say other than a like.

I now feel more connected to my WordPress family. I get feedback and helpful tips. I appreciate each and every one of them for it. They will never know how much it means to me.

My greatest connection to date was when one of my favorite famous authors followed me on Twitter. Now all my blogs are linked to Twitter and Facebook so anyone can read  my blogs. I couldn’t believe it when I received a notification that not only did she follow that particular blog but she liked it as well.

I was floored. Talk about validation. I was so excited I even took a screen shot and printed the moment. I just knew without proof no one would believe me.

We are all about connections! It is the human condition, this need to connect to someone!

As a newbie to the writing world, it is even more imperative that I make all kinds if connections! It seems to be working and I cherish each connection I have made.

I can’t wait to see what connections I make in the future…
