GRAIN

GRAIN

WRITE A POST IN RESPONSE TO TODAY’S ONE – WORD PROMPT.

For some reason when I hear the word grain I think if Abraham! You know from the Bible. That verse that says

THAT IN BLESSING I WILL BLESS THEE, AND IN MULTIPLYING, I WILL MULTIPLY THY SEED AS THE STARS OF THE HEAVEN, AND AS THE SAND WHICH IS UPON THE SEA SHORE; AND THY SEED SHALL POSSESS THE GATE OF HIS ENEMIES.

Now I don’t know if you know the story Abraham but the gist of the story God told him to sacrifice his only son as an offering to him. Basically to  show his loyalty. Obviously a test of Abraham’s faith in his God. Like a good follower Abraham took his only son to sacrifice unto God! Right before he let his blade fall God stopped him and rewarded him with that scripture. He would give him so many children that they would be as the stars in the heaven and the sands of the sea shore! Wow, that is a lot!

Once I think of this scripture I also think of those GRAINS of sand and how insignificant we are in the Universe. We are but a speck of what the world is and what it has to offer. We as humans think that we are so profound and entitled. Why? When you look at the universe as a whole the stars the world around us. We are nothing but a grain of sand a spot on the map that makes up the world. We should be more humble. We should take the time to realize we are only here for a short time according to God’s timetable and make the most of what little place in this world he has given us.

We are just a blade of grass in God’s backyard, we are just a one of many stars in his world, we are just a GRAIN of sand on his beach of life…
