MODERN FAMILIES

IF ONE OF YOUR LATE ANCESTORS WERE TO COME BACK FROM THE DEAD AND JOIN YOU FOR DINNER, WHAT THINGS ABOUT YOUR FAMILY WOULD THIS PERSON FIND THE MOST SHOCKING?

Well, my grandfather died about twenty-three years ago. He was from what I could tell a private man and he had acres and acres of land that he worked right until and including the day he died. We were not that close but as we lived in another state but I think of him from time to time as a hard worker.

He had twelve kids my Mother being the 5th oldest and countless grandchildren. I am the 3rd oldest grandchild. When he died I was around sixteen and he had been found on his land on his knees praying to God! That is how he was found and I guess his heart had just given up.

If he were here he would probably be shocked and appalled at the sheer amount of technology out there and realize as private as he was nothing seems safe in this new world we live in.

All of his little secrets came out when he died, to the family but in this day and age, the world would know it too. I don’t think he would like it very much. He  would probably also be upset over how lazy this new generation is! Hell, even I’m a little offended at the lazy attitude of kids today. Even being raised dirt poor they are not appreciative of what they have they always seem to want more and feel they are entitled to whatever they want. With no real work required!

How did we get here, how did we get to the point where our kids no longer feel they have to put in the time and work for things. It still amazes me! My grandfather is probably rolling over in his grave…

  1. Very true I agree with every word you said about children, their attitude to everything these days is unbelievable.
They have no idea what hard work is, and their manners. Where did we go wrong?
